My interest in monster trucks started when I was a kid. I soon discovered that I had a relative that
had a monster truck and competed on the TNT racing circuit. After collecting all of the Micro Machines
monster trucks and some other monster truck toys I soon attended my first event. My first event was
at the California State Fairgrounds with some great trucks including the AM/PM Boss, AM/PM Rocket,
Skoal Bandit, Ecology Eliminator, local favorite Shotgun, Grave Digger and the brand new tube
frame Taurus. Shortly after that I got to see Andy Brass in the new tube frame Bigfoot 8 do a car
crushing exhibition. I was hooked.
I moved to Florida in 1996 and that is where my interest in monster trucks really took off. Soon after moving
to Florida I created the websites Monster Mania and MonsterTrucks.net. Following them were a number of websites
for individual monster trucks.
A number of years later after a career change and some life changes, I lost the ability and energy to be
able to stay involved with monster trucks in the way I had become used to. Not being able to keep up with
Monster Mania, the site was stripped of content and all but shut down. MonsterTrucks.net remained online,
but with fewer updates.
Not content with having free time, within a matter of months I became heavily involved in the Chevy Avalanche
truck clubs, and created a Florida chapter. After a few good GTG's, I made a move up north to New Jersey in 2003.
Seeing an opportunity to create a new community of friends, in 2006 I started the Keystone Avalanche Club to serve
Chevy Avalanche owners and enthusiasts in and around Pennsylvania. This is a club that I still run and am heavily
involved in today.
Trucks are never far from my mind, but even more important are the people that I have met. Between monster trucks
and the Chevy Avalanche truck clubs, I've had the opportunity to meet some amazing people and have made some of
my best friends. The hardest part about being away from monster trucks is not being able to be around these
great people.
A thread on the Monster Mayhem forums struck a nerve and brought many years of great memories fresh into my mind.
Monster Mania is getting a re-birth and will soon feature all of the great content that it once used to. All of the
pictures will be bigger and look better than they ever did.
There are a lot of people that are responsible for giving me the opportunities to make Monster Mania what it was.
These people include the Hartsocks, Steve Woodard, the Jack's, the Brow's, Chuck Davis, Matt Steele, Durty Dingus, and
many more.
I would love to talk about the good ol' days of monster trucks with all of you. Please click on the contact link above
and shoot me an email.
